Mr. Ahiafor has over 20 years' experience in the banking industry sector in the United States of America and Africa. He was the Area Manager for Treasury Operations at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, responsible for the West African region from February 1999 through to February 2003. In his capacity, he restructured all the treasury operation units in the region.

He was offered the position of Head of Derivative Operations for Standard Chartered bank in Singapore and all countries east of Bangladesh. He served on the team tasked to implement the Bank of Ghana payment systems; a clearing system in operation amongst all Banks. He also served as a member of the team, tasked to postulate a framework for the implementation of the West African Payment Systems.

Prior to working for Standard Chartered Bank, he served as the Assistant Vice President and Manager of Derivate products at Rabobank International, New York. He also worked as Assistant Vice President at Rabo Capital Services Inc. New York, where he started maiden business operations of the company.

Mr. Ahiafor, before Rabobank, was an Assistant Vice President and Manager of Strategic Instruments department at Canadian Imperial bank of Commerce, New York. He served as the Operations Officer and Manager of Derivative Operations at Union Bank of Switzerland, New York. He also served as an Assistant Treasurer at Republic National Bank, New York.

Mr. Ahiafor attended the State University of New York Maritime College, a military institution in New York, where he obtained a BSc degree in Management along with a host of professional certifications in Capital Markets, Derivatives, Management and also a Third Officer's License.
